The First Year Experience Living Learning Community

A Community Designed with the First-Year Student in Mind

What Makes this Community So Special?

The First-Year Experience Hall is the ideal place for first-year students to live and interact. You’ll be living with other first-year students like yourself and will have proximity to resources to aid in your transition into college life. You will live in a socially supportive environment and have 48 potential “study buddies” in close quarters. You will have increased accessibility to tutoring, mentoring, and relevant programming as compared to students living in other halls.

As a part of this community, you will:

  • Take classes with your hall mates, including the First-Year Seminar (USTD 100)
  • Complete community service projects with faculty, staff members and fellow students
  • Participate in activities to help you get involved with CSUSB offices, programs, and student groups
  • Live in an academically supportive environment
Of course, the traditional residential life amenities will be offered:
  • Fully Furnished Rooms
  • Wireless Internet
  • Basic Cable
  • Priority Class Registration
  • Newspaper Service
  • Study Rooms
  • Laundry Facilities
