Prior To Placement
Obtain an NSE Directory from your NSE campus office and select five to
ten campuses of interest to you.
Research exchange options by reviewing campus catalogs, public relations
materials, and World Wide Web information.
Consult your NSE Coordinator and academic advisor to identify appropriate
exchange options. A flexible academic plan is a must for exchange
participation.
Discuss NSE participation with family, friends and former exchange
participants.
Complete campus NSE application and pay NSE application fee.
Consult with the Financial Aid Office to ascertain your needs for
the exchange term(s). Refer to information in the NSE brochure
for policies governing federall funded aid application and disbursement.
By February 15, file FAFSA for federally funded financial aid.
Consult your NSE Coordinator to prioritize options for exchange.
After Your Placement
By the first week of April, sign and return the Placement Acceptance Form
to your home coordinator.
Read all information sent by host coordinator and meet all specified
deadlines.
Complete host campus application for on-campus housing.
Forward transcripts and health records to your host campus coordinator.
Complete an advising agreement governing how host campus courses will be
accepted by your home campus.
Consult with home campus financial aid office, if exchanging under Plan B,
to arrange for disbursement of aid while on exchange.
Register for classes at the host campus.
Forward summer mailing address to both home and host coordinators.
Pay tuition and fees to the home campus if exchanging under Plan B.
Keep a copy of the receipt for your host coordinator.
During The Exchange
Notify host coordinator when you arrive on campus.
Attend NSE orientation sessions.
Plan A participants pay resident (in state) tuition/fees to the host campus.
Forward host campus address to both host and home campus coordinators.
Preparing to Return To The Home Campus
Complete home campus re-admission (re-entry) forms, if required.
Contact home campus financial aid office to ascertain needs for the coming
year.
Apply for financial aid through the home campus financial aid office.
Complete home campus registration materials.
Complete home campus application for on-campus housing.
Contact home campus records office to request that transcripst be
forwarded to your home campus.
Forward summer mailing address to home coordinator.
Visit with home and host coordinators to evaluate the exchange experience.
Verify that work completed at the host campus has been entered on your
home campus permanent record.
